Igniting Creativity and Confidence: A Spotlight on SPARK FEST 2025

SPARK FEST x MARKET DAY 2025 illuminated SMAN 1 Muntilan with a blend of creativity, performance, and language mastery. As part of the school’s annual program, SMANSA’s Performance and Rising English Knowledge (SPARK FEST) aims to build students’ confidence, enhance their English proficiency, and nurture their entrepreneurial spirit.

The event began with a technical meeting on October 27, followed by the main activities on November 13, and ended with the announcement of winners on November 17. Students from grades X, XI, and the advanced phase actively participated, making the festival lively and competitive.

One of the festival’s highlights was the Singing Contest, where selected students performed songs chosen from a predetermined list. Participants showcased their vocal abilities without using lyric sheets onstage, creating an authentic and engaging atmosphere.

The English Debate Competition, using the Asian Parliamentary format, tested students’ reasoning, public speaking, and teamwork. The debate motions covered relevant social issues, pushing participants to think critically and logically present their arguments.

Another major component was the News Report Competition, where students delivered structured and thematic news scripts on environmental action, youth innovation, and mental health awareness. This competition enhanced students’ communication skills and confidence in speaking English fluently.

MARKET DAY added an entrepreneurial dimension to the festival. Students showcased creativity through business stalls, offering various products and learning valuable lessons in marketing, teamwork, and financial literacy.

SPARK FEST 2025 successfully captured the spirit of growth, enthusiasm, and excellence. More than just a competition, it became a platform for students to express their talents, strengthen their potential, and embody the values of SMAN 1 Muntilan.
